In 2014, Nominet (the registry for all .uk ending domain names) introduced domain names directly within .uk to run alongside those existing at the third level under the likes of .co.uk, .org.uk etc. In their own words, this was done "to offer new and shorter options for those seeking memorable domain names, in line with the changing use and appreciation of domain names."
As part of this introduction, they gave a 5-year exclusive window for a sole existing third-level registrant, usually the .co.uk owner, to register the corresponding .uk domain name.
That option was not taken and has expired. Now, for the first time ever, we can exclusively offer the collingwood.uk domain name for sale on a first-come, first-served basis.
This represents a moment-in-time opportunity to acquire this domain name at the ground-floor level.
At the time of writing, we believe there are 107 registered companies using collingwood as the initial part of their company name (source: Companies House) and there are over 3,000 people in the UK with this surname (source: forebears.io). We expect demand to be strong.
